Jordan’s Career Growth Story

My name is Jordan Rutledge, and I began my career with Belt Power in September of 2018. At the time, I was 22 years old, unsure of what direction my life or career was headed. I had never heard of conveyor belting before, but I took a chance and decided to give it an opportunity.

When I first started, I was working in the shop fabricating and installing belts while living in a shed in my girlfriend’s parents’ backyard. It wasn’t glamorous, but I was hungry to build a better future for myself. I came to work every day motivated to learn, improve, and prove myself. With the guidance and patience of a few experienced employees who had been in the industry for many years, I quickly picked up belt fabrication and installation. Their mentorship meant more to me than they probably realize.

Before long, I was leading installations and building strong, lasting relationships with customers. I spent the next three and a half years fabricating just about every type of belt imaginable and working on nearly every installation we had. During that time, I grew not only as an employee, but as a person, gaining confidence, responsibility, and pride in my work.

Even though I was grateful for where I was, I knew I wanted to continue growing. When an outside sales position became available, I applied and was disappointed when I didn’t get it the first time. Instead of getting discouraged, I stayed focused and kept pushing forward. Four months later, the position opened again, and I was finally given the opportunity. Stepping into that role came with a steep learning curve, but it also came with a renewed sense of purpose. Every day I learn something new, and I’m incredibly thankful for the trust and support placed in me.

In 2025, I was able to buy a house and get engaged, milestones I once couldn’t imagine reaching. None of this would have been possible without the opportunities, mentorship, and belief I’ve been given at Belt Power. I’m truly grateful for how far this company has helped me come and excited for what the future holds.
